An area encompassing the upland zone of the South Pennines from Ilkley in the north to Marsden in the south, the Watershed Landscape Project aims to empower local residents to investigate their landscape and promote a greater understanding of the important role the moorland played to the surrounding settlements. This event is a celebration of the work carried out by local volunteers on archaeological projects across the South Pennines as part of the Heritage Lottery funded Watershed Landscape Project. The conference will include papers on upland archaeology, community archaeology projects, aspects of communicating heritage to a wider audience, and accessing funding.
