In a deviation from the usual format:
- Dr. Kirsty McCarrison from the Durham University Heritage Collections Learning Team will talk about the Science of the Lindisfarne Gospels;
- then she and Dr. Sarah Price will give a tour of the Oriental Museum with plenty of time for people to have a good look at the collections and chat.

Thursday 26th September
Hosted by the Newcastle Literary & Philosophical society [4]. This meeting will be particularly focused on the NESA itself, welcoming new members via teh British Science Festival earlier in the month and considering the history of the British Science Association, with which the Lit & Phil are intrinsically linked.
Presentations:
- The Lit & Phil will give a short presentation and a tour of the library.
- The NESA planning team will present about the NESA and its future plans.
