6. Event/activity description (max 300 words): 

A two day event on 16th & 17th March for families. It is based in Rozelle House and surrounding park. There will be a quiz and walk focusing on the environment, with museum exhibits and points in the park to visit and explore. Local organisations (RSPB and Butterfly Conservation) with an interest in nature within the local area will be on hand to encourage people participate in their activities. SEPA are to assist and demonstrate the importance of water quality in the Slaphouse burn and how it effects stream and river life. The South Ayrshire Parks Dept. who have a new green waste recycling facility within the park will assist with explanation of the processes involved. The successful quizzer will be able to plant a tree as a legacy of our first science event. The area within the courtyard will have ideas on recycling, soil quality and craft work for the public to participate in.
