We have designed a fantastic scheme especially for National Science & Engineering Week called "Toes For Turf". The science behind fingerprints is well known. What is not so well known is the science behind footprints or "feet prints". This activity enables students to take, classify and "lift" both fingerprints and foot prints. As the research on footprints is meagre, this scheme will allow students to make some discoveries about the correlation or otherwise between fingerprints and feet prints.
In 2013 the British Science Festival travels to Newcastle. People from all over Newcastle, the North East and the UK will come together the celebrate the impact that science, engineering and technology have on our lives. From shows and workshops for the whole family to discussions of the very latest scientific breakthroughs, there will be something for everyone at the British Science Festival. Register to be among the first to receive information about the programme.
Oxfordshire Science Festival is an opportunity for people right across the county to engage with the cutting edge research that is taking place, right here on our doorsteps. In 2013 we had 133 events which attracted around 30,000 people. We covered the whole county, from Henley to Burford, and from Didcot to Banbury. In 2014 we're planning to be even bigger, with the return of the "Wow! How?" Science Fair, and the first ever "ATOM!" a new two day climax to the Festival in Abingdon. OSF has events for people of all ages and levels of interest.
