Hot Water is a national short film competition, launching on World Water Day March 22nd at the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust in Barnes. Brought to you by Cool it Schools.com the creative environmental programme, in partnership with WaterAid, Waterwise and Wildscreen Film Festival. Open to young people and students age 5 - 25 years. Hot Water celebrates the UN International Year of Water Cooperation. Films can explore any aspect of water and there is a useful resource pack available on the Cool it Schools website.

 
ESRC Festival of Social Science

The ESRC Festival of Social Science is a week-long nationwide festival which celebrates the social sciences. Taking place each autumn, the Festival offers a fascinating insight into some of the country's leading social science research and how it influences our social, economic and political lives - both now and in the future. You may be surprised at just how relevant the Festival's events are to society today. Social science research makes a difference.

 
St Gabriels Science Week

Breakdown of the science timetable, pupils are working on a crime scene and the Sscience involved with solving a murder in year 9. Year 7 pupils are finding out about the Science in the home, using everyday items to complete some scientific experiments. There is also a trip to the Manchester Science and Industry museum for member of the STEM club. There are special assemblies with science demonstrations for year 7, 8 and 9. Talks are also being held for seperate scientists to discuss careers in both Science and engineering.
