Crime scene investigation/forensic science
Thursday, 13 December, 2012 - 16:30 to Friday, 13 December, 2013 - 16:30
Self Delivery

We have designed a fantastic scheme especially for National Science & Engineering Week called "Toes For Turf". The science behind fingerprints is well known. What is not so well known is the science behind footprints or "feet prints". This activity enables students to take, classify and "lift" both fingerprints and foot prints. As the research on footprints is meagre, this scheme will allow students to make some discoveries about the correlation or otherwise between fingerprints and feet prints.

The inner world of Doctor Who
Tuesday, 5 November, 2013 - 19:30 to 21:00
Café Boscanova

With the 50th anniversary of the iconic BBC series happening this November, Prof MacRury will discuss the psychology behind the show’s popularity.

•Why is it still, if not more, popular 50 years on?

•What has made it so appealing to people around the world?

•Why does it evoke such rich childhood memories of hiding behind the sofa from monsters?

Come along and help explore these topics in our own celebration of “The Doctor”.
