Edinburgh & South East Scotland Branch

The Edinburgh and South East Scotland Branch is run by a diverse, dynamic and enthusiastic team and provides a broad programme of science based activities throughout the year.

We are currently looking for a new Chair for the Branch. Find out more information

We run 'SciScreen' events at the Edinburgh Filmhouse and recently ran a series of events on 'All at Sea - a History of Maritime Communications' in celebration of the British Science Festival's return to Scotland this year. other events have included "Stargazing" at Soutra Isle, "Beer Bugs and Brewing" (including tasting!) at Riccarton, "Celebrating Scottish Photographic Development" at the Camera Obscura in Edinburgh, a visit to the Falkirk Wheel, and "The Food On Our Table" fun day in Livingston.

As well as organising our own events, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with other organisations in our area.

The Edinburgh and South East Scotland Branch are currently recruiting new volunteers. A background in science is by no means essential and oportunities exist in a wide range of areas. If you would like to find out more, please contact regions@britishscienceassociation.org
