Slug Watch

Spanish slugs invade Britain!

Recently there has been an invasion of Spanish slugs that are threatening our native slug species. These slugs are different from other slugs you’ve probably seen chomping away at the plants in your garden; they don’t just eat fruits and vegetables but also excrement, other slugs and dead animals. Researchers need you to become a citizen scientist and fight back against the Spanish slugs by surveying your gardens, local areas and school grounds for slugs and reporting them via the form on our Slug Watch website.
