General Committee
Nominations are required for three elected places on the British Science Association General Committee in 2012/2013. Of the three, one member must be elected from Institutional and Corporate members; the other two may be elected from any of the three Constituencies (Sections, Members, and Branches). The General Committee is established by British Science Association Statutes and is the principal strategic advisory body of the British Science Association. The General Committee consists, in addition to the members of Council including the President, past-President and President-elect of:
• 12 members elected from Voting Members of the Association of whom at least two shall be drawn from members nominated by Section Committees, at least two from members nominated by Branch Committees and at least two from members nominated by Voting Members in such a manner as Council shall from time to time determine
• 2 members nominated and elected by Institutional and Corporate members
• 2 members who are students and who have first-hand experience of British Science Association, nominated and elected by Voting Members.
The elected members of the General Committee are shown below together with the date of his/her retirement. In principle, those elected serve for three years and can then stand for re-election since there is a maximum period of six years.
Two members are due to retire this year: Sheila Anderson is eligible for re-election for another three years; Dr Murray has served two terms and is therefore not eligible for re-election.

Closing date for receipt of nominations is 11th May 2012.
