Volunteering in the Young People's Programme
The British Science Association's Young People's Programme aims to engage and inspire young people with science and technology and their implications. We run award schemes for young people of all ages, provide INSET training and resources for teachers, and organise events for young people to experience science and technology directly.

There are 2 opportunities to volunteer with the Young People's Programme.

1. The British Science Festival
Hands-on events run by the team are some of the core events for 14-19 year olds at the British Science Festival. They happen daily at the Festival and provide students with the opportunity to meet scientists, ask them questions and debate hot topics with them, or get thier hands onto real science problems.  Volunteering provides experience in working directly with young people in science education.

2. The Big Bang: UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair
The Big Bang: UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair is an annual event for young people to exhibit outstanding research projects and compete for top prizes. Volunteers assist with the exhibition, provide support to the school students, their teachers, the science fair judges and distinguished guests. This is an excellent opportunity to interact with and encourage young scientists, and to meet people involved in science education and science communication.
