It was a busy and eventful Festival in 2009. Many people from all over the country came to Surrey, to help celebrate science, engineering and technology and its impact on our lives. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
For all those who missed out or want to re-visit their time at the Festival, here are some of this year's highlights and external news and views...
From plays to talks to debates and hands-on activities for one week Surrey became engulfed with all things science. In six days, we brought to you the latest in science research and topical subjects from the likes of Darwin and gaming, to talks on sleep to debates on crime and the credit crunch.
We started the week with an explosion of science at the family weekend- Science about town in Guildford. During the weekend, field trips were made, songs about science were sang, Nick Arnold told us about his fascination with horrible things, we discovered the magic of chemistry and we learnt how to go Green with Dick and James Strawbridge.
Other big speakers include fertility expert Robert Winston, author Bill Bryson and physicist Jim Al-Khalili to name a few.
Our Award Lecturers presented new and exciting science to a wide-ranging audience. Tracy Alloway gave us an insight into how brain training is beneficial for us. Maria McNamara told us about the importance of fossils and Kerry Kirwan presented the World's First F3 racing car - a much more environmentally friendly vehicle than most road cars!
We also had events on how to look after granny, the truth about supplements and the results from the Honesty lab were announced during the Festival.
And if that's not enough, view the whole range of news stories from the Festival on our Festival News pages.
