Darwin in Space
*
To celebrate Darwin200 and the International Year of Astronomy during National Science and Engineering Week 2009, the British Science Association and “the Future is Wild™” launched a nationwide school competition.

This explored what Darwin might have discovered if the Beagle had taken him, not to the Galapagos Islands, but to a new planet where life exists! Tailored for Key Stage 1, 2 and 3, we asked children to explore the life forms that Darwin might have discovered on one of four environmentally different and isolated islands on an alien planet.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in this competition, we had over 25,000 fantastic entries!

WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

Congratulations go to Abigail Reeves (KS1), Laurie Dibble (KS2) and Kate Prescott (KS3) for the best scientifically explained and presented life forms! They each won a Nintendo DS and game, and a interactive 'The Future is Wild' education pack and game for their class.
