Brain Awareness Week

Coordinated by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives (DABI) and the European Dana Alliance for the Brain (EDAB), Brain Awareness Week unites the efforts of universities, hospitals, patient groups, professional associations, government agencies, outreach organisations, and schools around the world in a week-long celebration of the brain.

Brain Awareness Week began in 1996 as a modest effort involving 160 organisations in the United States. In 1998, the campaign was introduced internationally, first as a day and then as a week. By the year 2000, in just four years, BAW had truly become a global effort, with more than 1,100 partners in 41 countries.

To find out more about the week, visit our online programme (events to be uploaded shortly) or the Dana Alliance website.
