From Belfast to Brighton - the ESRC Festival of Social Science

People discovered how the big issues affect society at the ESRC Festival of Social Science from Friday 6 March until Sunday 15 March 2009.   The Festival, as part of National Science and Engineering Week, highlighted the role social science plays in answering some of the big issues facing us today.

The Festival provided a fascinating insight into some of the country's leading social science research and how it influences our social, economic and political lives - both now and in the future.

The weeklong programme of events is held across the UK. All events were free and aimed at a range of different audiences, including policy makers, business, the media, the general public and students of all ages.

The ESRC Festival of Social Science is an initiative from the Economics and Social Research Council, the UK’s leading independent research agency addressing economic and social concerns. To find out more visit the Festival website.
