The British Science Association, with support from The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and WWF-UK, launched a nationwide poster competition for schools to highlight the plight of some of the world’s most endangered species for National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW) 2010.
This competition, for Key Stages 1–4, got students to carry out research into animal and plant species that are under threat of extinction. They were asked to explain why their chosen species is under threat and what can be done to preserve them for the future. This was then presented in the form of a poster.
The competition had over 16,500 entries from schools all over the country.
