Monday 5 January 2009

Europe’s largest, longest running science festival is coming to Surrey in 2009.  Running from 5-10 September, the week long programme of events features debates, workshops, talks, plays, films, excursions and field trips. There’ll be something for everyone – from families and schoolchildren to practising scientists and local businesses.

Your chance to get involved

Hundreds of events are set to take place both at the University of Surrey and at a variety of venues in Guildford and across the county, from libraries and museums to shopping centres and bars.

The Festival is organised by the British Science Association with support from local partners Guildford Borough Council, SEEDA, Surrey County Council and the University of Surrey.

Help is welcomed from local organisations, groups and businesses interested in:

• proposing and organising events
• providing a venue
• sponsoring the Festival
• helping with publicising the Festival.

For more information and to propose an event visit the Festival website or contact Alison Burt, the local British Science Festival Project Coordinator on Tel: 01483 689102.
