Chair of the British Science Association honoured by the Queen
Professor Julia Goodfellow the Chair of the British Science Association and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kent, has been appointed DBE in the Queen's birthday honours, for her services to science.
Sir Roland Jackson, Chief Exectutive of the British Science Association said; “We are very pleased that Dame Julia has been recognised in particular for her work in public engagement with the sciences.”
Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow became the Chair of the Association in 2009 and has previously held positions as deputy Master at Birkbeck, University of London, and Chief Executive of the BBSRC (Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council). She was awarded a CBE for services to Biophysics in 2001 and has had a key role both as a scientist and in promoting public engagement with science.
