British Science Association Honourary Fellow makes New Year's Honours list.
Vivienne Parry, an Honorary Fellow of the British Science Association and a celebrity judge in the forthcoming National Science & Engineering Competition was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2011 New Year Honours for services to the public understanding of science.
Sir Roland Jackson, Chief Executive of the British Science Association said; “We are very pleased that Vivienne has been recognised for her exceptional work in public engagement with the sciences.”
Vivienne’s distinguished career to date has included presenting the BBC’s 'Tomorrow's World', reporting for Panorama, writing for the Journal of Molecular Biology, The Guardian, The News of the World and for The Times Body and Soul supplement. She is well known as a broadcaster with Radio 4 and presents a wide range of documentaries on science. Furthermore she is Vice Chairman of Council of UCL (University College London) and a member of Council of the Medical Research Council.
