Every year, the British Science Festival (previously known as the BA Festival of Science) generates hundreds of articles in the UK press – the coverage for 2009, when the Festival visited Surrey, equated to almost 200 stories in the UK national newspapers, nearly 150 regional newspaper articles, at least 145 radio broadcasts and over 25 TV broadcasts.
Here is just a taster of some of the stories from the 2009 Festival…
The British Science Association operates a Press Centre at the Festival, providing desk space, access to telephones, internet PCs and interview rooms with ISDN lines. Registered journalists have access to embargoed speakers’ papers online before the event and are able to attend press conferences with the key speakers at the Festival. There is also a press launch in London a few days before the Festival where key speakers preview their talks.
