The Leicestershire and Rutland Branch runs events in partnership with other organisations such as the Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society and the Women's Institute.
In addition they are currently running a series of innovative programmes targeted at specific audiences: The Opening Doors Project aims to provide careers information to young women, their parents and careers teachers careers in science, engineering and construction.
This information will be provided by women who are already working in these areas. People will be able to ask questions via a web site.

A second branch initiative is to provide simple yet relevant science information to Muslim Women. Groups meet regularly at the Shama Women's Centre in Leicester.
