The West Midlands Branch was relaunched (then as the Birmingham Branch) in 1997.
The Branch organises a programme of lectures, visits and other events, and has also formed a strong collaboration with "Thinktank", the Birmingham Science Museum. In addition, the Branch has developed a partnership with local University of the Third Age groups and, annually, arranges at least one of its meetings as a collaborative event at their regular venue.
The Annual Prestige Lecture is the highlight of the programme; the 2010 lecture was given by Professor Ian Stewart of Warwick University and speakers over recent years have included Frances Cairncross, Susan Greenfield and Professor Steve Jones.
The Branch Secretary will be pleased to give any further information and discuss involvement by anyone interested in sharing in the activities of the Branch or in assisting on the Branch Committee. Please contact Tom Horner.
