Courses and Training
There are many institutions that offer training and courses including degrees in science communication and media training for scientists.

Aside from such schemes as the Media Fellowships and perspectives, The British Science Association does not offer any formal training as such.  However the links below can provide further details of their programmes.

The Environment Council runs a Learning and Development Programme that focuses on how to have better conversations with your stakeholders to enable better and more sustainable decision-making.  The programme, run by experienced practitioners, is designed to give you the skills and confidence to manage, deliver and evaluate community engagement and public participation processes.

SciConnect provides training in science communication and media skills, uniquely delivered by professional journalists who also have experience as research-active scientists. Their courses meet a range of needs, from the student wanting to learn the basics of communicating with wider audiences to the researcher preparing to deal with the media or engage in public outreach.

Science Learning Centres provide high quality Continuing Professional Development for everyone involved in science education at all levels.  With ten centres across the country, access to innovative and inspiring courses is within easy reach.
