5. How much does registration for the conference cost?
The fees for 2012 have not yet been confirmed however to give you an idea, this is how much it costs last year.

All delegate fees are zero-rated for VAT (this means no VAT will be added to the fee stated above).

. How can I pay for the conference?

All payment is online by credit/debit card through our secure payment system (Worldpay). We are unable to accept cash or cheques. If you have any questions about payment please email events@britishscienceassociation.org .

7. Can I get a receipt for my delegate fee?
Yes, please email the Science in Society Team.

8. What is the cancellation policy for delegates?
If you pay by credit/debit card your place can be cancelled with full refund any time before 13 April. To cancel please email the Science in Society Team

9. Am I eligible to pay a concessionary rate?
We offer concessionary rates to students and the unemployed. Proof of status will be required when booking.

10. Can I attend only one day of the conference?
Yes, it is possible to book for individual days at the conference using the online booking form.

11. Are bursaries available for the Science Communication Conference?
We hope to have bursaries available to help specific individuals attend the Conference. Further details can be found on the bursary page

12. Is the British Science Association able to arrange concessionary rates for accommodation?
Unfortunately, we are not able to obtain low-rate accommodation for conference delegates.

Hotels within walking distance of Kings Place include Premier Inn, Novotel and Megaro.

13. Who is speaking at the Conference?
Speakers and sessions are chosen by a panel and a call for session proposals is put out in October/November. If you want to be kept up to date with when a call is issued, sign up to elerts.

14. How can I run a session at the Conference?
The call for proposals to run a session at the Conference is from 24 October to 25 November 2011. Proposal is by online form and anyone can submit.

16. I'm new to the Conference, do I need to prepare anything?
No, but we recommend you have a look at the background reading. There will also be a session on the first day of the Conference for those new to science communication which we will send you an invitation to.

17. What opportunities are there to network?
The Conference features many opportunities for networking and in the past have included speed networking and a drinks reception as well as informal opportunities to meet over lunch and coffee breaks.There is a literature table to leave out flyers and business cards which we encourage delegates to bring. If you are sending boxes of literature please send them directly to King's Place.

Presentations and conference reports and evaluations will be made available after the conference.

19. Who organises the Conference?
The Science Communication Conference is organised by the Science in Society team of the British Science Association in partnership with the Wellcome Trust.

Yes, after the Conference, we will send you an online survey and we welcome all comments and suggestions.
