Funding opportunities
There are a number of different ways of bringing in funding for science communication activities.
A call for funding under the EU’s Framework Programme 7 ‘Science in Society’ programme has been announced, with opportunities for a range of participants including academics, schools, science centres, science festivals, businesses and NGOs. Find out more (pdf 28kB).
One of the resources produced for National Science and Engineering Week includes a wide range of ideas. Access to many funding streams depends on the type of event as well as the affiliations of the individuals and organisations running it.
If you are a scientist and want to gain some experience of science communication, you might like to think about applying for perspectives or a Media Fellowship. If you have a project idea and are funded by the EPSRC then you may be interested in a series of workshops we are running for people considering applying for an EPSRC Partnerships for Public Engagement award.
