AstraZeneca has supported the CREST awards for many years and was instrumental in the scheme’s complete revamp in 2004 via the good offices of David Knee, whom AstraZeneca seconded to the British Science Association. Chris was instrumental in this relationship and in maintaining the belief in CREST within AstraZeneca during those crucial years. Latterly, the very valuable evaluation of the CREST awards has been instigated by Chris’ office, and this will prove vital to the future and growth of CREST.

In addition to this support, Chris has been involved with AstraZeneca’s continuing involvement in the British Science Festival Press Office. This ongoing commitment demonstrates a belief in the British Science Association’s activity which goes well beyond a sponsor’s role. His advocacy within AstraZeneca of the British Science Association and its work has been vital in the company’s continuing support.
