Colin H. Johnson

Colin Johnson OBE was the Association's Vice-President (Young People's Programmes) from 2003-2009.  A chemist by training, he was for 12 years a science teacher, and for a further 12 years a university lecturer in science education. From 1997-2004 he was Chief Executive of Techniquest in Cardiff, the UK's first purpose-built science discovery centre.  He was the founding Chair of ECSITE-UK, now the UK's "Association of Science and Discovery Centres", and has served the sector internationally in a number of capacities. Though retired from full-time employment, Colin maintains a range of consulting and voluntary activities in the field of public engagement.
