Dylan O'Sullivan has been appointed the new national co-ordinator for the CREST Star Investigators programme.
Dylan has over 10 years experience managing projects, over half of which has been in the development sector. His last role was with CSV project managing employee volunteering schools partnerships for corporate clients including The Guardian and The Financial Times.
How did you get into development? I went to Sri Lanka immediately following the 2004 tsunami in order to volunteer for 4 weeks building houses. While there I set-up a UN funded programme providing relief aid, which I was asked to stay on and manage. I ended up spending 2 years there!
What has been your most interesting role? I spent 2 years in Namibia working for the ministry of environment and tourism as a community development consultant. My office was a tent, a 4x4, and a laptop, and I got to travel all over the country.
What are you most excited about in your new role? I am lookin forward to working with our Local Co-ordinators and building partnerships with education providers to develop a really comprehensive package for science clubs.
