The Huxley Summit The UK is at a crossroads. The result of the EU referendum has led people to question who and what we trust. There has been a breakdown of trust in experts, expertise and institutions. We live in an interconnected world, where one decision or development can have far-reaching social and economic impacts. The Huxley Summit will provide a space for 250 leaders both within and beyond science, to question, debate and agree radical new ways to build trust in science and technology to advance society. The event is invitation-only. Speakers confirmed to date include: Professor Brian Cox OBE (physicist and broadcaster) Baroness Onora O'Neill (moral philosopher) Lady Barbara Judge (Chair, Institute of Directors) Sacha Romanovitch (Chief Executive, Grant Thornton LLP UK) Baroness Martha Lane-Fox (cross-bench Peer, Chancellor of Open University) Dame Sally Davies (Chief Medical Officer for England) Karen Blackett OBE (Chair, MediaCom UK) Daniel Susskind (co-author of The Future of Professions) The day-long event will be centred around a main plenary programme with high-profile speakers, but – in addition to ample open networking opportunities throughout the day and at the evening drinks reception – there will also be roundtables and small group discussions taking place for selected delegates on key topics. More information about the Summit can be found on www.huxleysummit.org. Please not that this event is invitation only. Booking for this event has now closed.
