The British Science Association's North West Branch presents 'Return Trip to Mars' the latest talk in their SciBar series.

Conway Mothobi FRAS
Knowledge Anchor (Math & Space)
School of Research, Enterprise & Innovation

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go”. TS Eliot

In this talk Conway will discuss the complexities of sending human beings to Mars and returning them safely to Earth. He will discuss the research milestones and the science and engineering advances that make 2035 a good target date for this venture; a journey through Deep Space where the sun shines brightly but the the sky is black! He will also discuss the envisaged science payloads of the mission and the challenges that have to be met including the many critical issues that have yet to be addressed. In summary, this sundowner conversation is on how we make it to Mars, what we should (or will) do there and how the human Mars rovers return safely to Earth.
