In 2013 and 2014, the British Science Association worked with 42 private sector engineers from five organisations, supporting them to develop their own public engagement activities.

The engineers ran 14 public events including an engineering themed walking tour of Bristol, a wind power themed event and an outdoor engineering game piloted at the British Science Festival 2014.

Those involved felt the project improved their understanding of public opinions of engineering and improved their confidence in engaging with the public. All the engineers were keen to get involved in more public engagement in the future.

Find out more and hear from some of the engineers who took part in our Engineers: Engage! video.

If you are an engineer who would like to engage more with the public, find out more in our public engagement guide.

Engineers: Engage! was supported by an Ingenious grant from the Royal Academy of Engineers.
