For the 2015 conference we are offering a limited number of bursaries for attendees in particular groups. A bursary covers a two day bursary delegate pass and Conference social events, although you can apply for just one day. The bursary does not include accommodation or travel.

Due to limited capacity at the venue, a bursary delegate pass does not guarantee entry to the keynote events (10am - 11am on Thursday, and 9.30 – 10.30am on Friday). If the lecture theatre is full, there will a live stream in an adjacent room.

Bursary recipients are required to produce a written one page summary of one of the Conference sessions chosen by the British Science Association to be completed a week after the conference and emailed to Association staff by Friday 26 June.

To apply for a bursary, please fill out our online form by Tuesday 31 March.

If you have any questions about your application please email [email protected]

Eligibility

Bursaries are awarded in four categories:

- BSc or MSc Science Communication students (UK Full/Part time course for 2014/2015)

- Freelancers and individuals from non-profit organisations with less than 15 staff

- Researchers involved in public engagement

- Volunteers who have made a substantial and regular contribution to science communication initiatives over a considerable period of time

Bursaries are only awarded to applicants in the UK, and priority will be given to those who haven't received a bursary previously and those from the local area (50 miles radius)

Bursaries are awarded based on how you hope to benefit from attending the Conference and how you will contribute and pass on ideas to your colleagues. Please be as specific as possible.
