The British Science Association (BSA) recently responded to Ofqual's consultation about the assessment of practical work in GCSE science.

For the past 28 years the BSA has reached out to secondary school students through our CREST Awards programme. Last year, 33,000 awards were issued to students for an eclectic mix of science experiments, presentations and projects. Feedback from CREST and academic evidence shows the sheer value in providing an outlet for students to explore, experiment and investigate.
