This year during British Science Week, we had a special one-off quiz of ten questions all based on plastic, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Horners

The plastics quiz was completed by small teams of students in primary education, e.g. in the classroom, at a Brownie group or equivalent, in a youth group or after-school club. There was a high calibre of entrants, and so we have decided to award prizes to the runners up, too!

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the plastics quiz prize draw is:

Class C6 of Bristol Cathedral School

Runners Up:

The John Henry Newman School

King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys

Tobin May, Education Projects Manager, said "It was great to have such interest in the Science and Plastics Quiz and the knowledge (and research skills) illustrated by the entrants was particularly impressive! There were many great entries but in the end we had to pick a winner.

"We based our final decision on the last question. The panel felt that the winners and runners up answers gave a breadth of use of plastics from new methods for old ideas, to the reuse of materials. Thank you again for all those who entered and to the Worshipful Company of Horners’ for making it all possible!".
