CREST Bronze
Research the causes and consequences of dehydration and investigate the constituents of an oral re-hydration salt (ORS)
Do some research to find out about the causes and consequences of dehydration. Find out about how to treat dehydration including the use of oral re-hydration salts (ORS) and what they contain.

CREST Silver
Research the implications of diarrhoea and dehydration for worldwide infant mortality and investigate re-hydration therapies.
You should start this project with some research. Find out about the causes and consequences of diarrhoea and its effect on infant mortality worldwide. You should find out about re-hydration therapy and oral re-hydration salts (ORS) including the WHO (World Health Organisation) formula for a home-made ORS.

CREST Gold
Research the implications of diarrhoea and dehydration for worldwide infant mortality. Investigate re-hydration therapies and the practical problems involved with dispensing oral re-hydration salts in third world countries.
Do some research about the causes and consequences of diarrhoea and its effect on worldwide infant mortality. You should find out about re-hydration therapy and oral rehydration salts (ORS) including the WHO formula for a home-made ORS. You should link with a Doctor or industrial or university department working in this field and contact an
organisation involved in overseas aid aimed at reducing infant mortality due to diarrhoea and dehydration.
