Communications Officer JOB TITLE: Communications Officer REPORTING TO: Brand and Marketing Manager RESPONSIBLE FOR: No staff BASED: Wellcome Wolfson Building, Queens Gate, London, SW7 5HD TERMS: Full time (35 hours per week), fixed term contract until 31 March 2019. We run specific activities and training for professional science communicators; we undertake research and policy work; and we seek to influence and collaborate with stakeholders including policy makers and opinion formers, leaders from across different sectors of business, industry and public life. We are seeking a Communications Officer to join our centralised comms team at the BSA’s head office. The communications team manages the media relations, marketing, digital and social media activity for the BSA and its programmes, and the successful candidate will help support the communications activity across all these channels. The role will entail a significant amount of copywriting and editing, as well as working on national marketing campaigns, developing content for social media channels and liaising with the media, suppliers and freelancers. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on all of the BSA’s major programmes, and will need to be able to adapt to producing content and collateral for various different audience groups because of this.
