Schools and teachers We involve hundreds of volunteers UK-wide, who take on a wide range of roles, including planning and facilitating public event programmes, engaging people with British Science Week and governing the British Science Association. All of these opportunities are reserved for our volunteers because we believe they are the best people to connect locally and we wish to give them the opportunity to share their enthusiasm for science, engineering, technology and maths; topics we know inspire passion in many people. We offer a diversity of volunteer roles, and you don’t have to be a scientist to volunteer with us. Volunteer at events Through our local branches Our local branches put on hundreds of events in their communities each year, and always need help with ideas, marketing and logistics. Find your local branch here. During British Science Week British Science Week takes place over ten days every March, with events taking place UK-wide. Anyone can organise an event or activity, and the British Science Association helps organisers plan by providing grants and free activity resources. Organise an event during BSW Through ScienceLive ScienceLive is a new event platform allowing event organisers, volunteers, speakers and the public to connect with one another.
